Thanks to all of the Auxiliary officers for coming out to the graduation, you guys did a great job. Even though the weather was about as uncooperative as it gets, you kept the graduates, their family and guests safe and orderly.

Just a quick reminder, the monthly meeting is next Tuesday 23 June at 7:00pm sharp. This meeting will be held at Tarantella’s Restaurant - 1199 Raritan Rd. in Clark. We will be celebrating Chief Hugo’s 25 years of service! All members are expected to attend!

Thanks to everyone that showed up for the Concert at the Promenade on 6/6! We had a great turn out and the event went off without a hitch. Sgt. Williams has issued the new uniform guidelines for Auxiliary Officers (see attachment.)

There will be a crowd control detail for the summer concert on Saturday 6 June at 1830 @ the Promenade. All Auxiliary Officers are encouraged to attend.

The training officers just wanted to thank everyone who attended the training this morning. Everyone stayed safe and did a great job. There will be another traffic training session for any officers that were unable to make the last session. We will have the training date available for the next meeting.

*Please remember, there will a uniform inspection at the next regular meeting 5/26!

We are happy to announce the graduation ceremony for the 2009 Union County Auxiliary Academy class. The event will be held at 6:30pm at the John Stamler Police Academy 1776 Raritan Road, Scotch Plains.

The 2009 Union County Auxiliary Police class is being held at the Union County John H. Stamler Police Academy. Under the direction of Officer Russel Gottlick, the Auxiliary Academy is an intensive 11-week course run entirely by volunteer instructors. During their academy training, Auxiliary Recruits will receive instruction on traffic control, patrol functions, crowd control, criminal law and courts, preservation of evidence, search and seizure, HAZMAT awareness, First Aid, CPR, unarmed defense, PR-24, OC spray, use of force, defensive driving, incident command, handcuffing, gang awareness, physical training, military drill, and much more.

By the time the recruits graduate the academy, they will be fully-functioning auxiliary law enforcement personnel. Because of the volunteer nature of this program, a great deal of dedication and determination is required by each recruit.
